Emerging CO2 utilization technologies for construction materials: A review

The construction industry is a major contributor of CO 2 emissions. Carbonation, involving the reaction with alkaline reactants, immobilizes into thermodynamically stable carbonates used in materials such as concrete and aggregates. utilization considered one most promising routes for carbon sequestration, $400 billion market opportunity potential to reduce annual emissions by up 3 Gt 2030.
